2014 Sante Sparkling
Mixed & White-Only shipment
Made with a large percentage of the red grapes Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. To produce a complex Blanc de Noirs, the key is sourcing from multiple cool-climate vineyards. Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley contributes structure, color, with a breadth of fruitful aroma and flavor. A touch of Old vine chardonnay from the Sebastopol Hills area of the Russian River Valley lends a zesty backbone to the blend. Pinot Meunier, again from Anderson Valley, contributes a youthful vibrancy and adds to the wine’s acidity.
2012 Clone 777 Pinot Noir
Mixed & Red-Only shipment
Small berries on small clusters create dark color, bold aromatics and full a full rich body. These are the characteristics that define the 777 Clone of pinot noir and the wine made from it. It is still important, however, no to discount the influence of site. It is, after all, the most import factor in growing grapes, and pinot noir is particularly susceptible to its influence. Our 777 Clone blends two vineyards to create a wine that is well rounded and balanced. In the Bucher Vineyard the 777 clone ripens to show the strength and vitality of the Middle Reach, a warmer neighborhood where the fog burns off by late morning. In the Sebastopol Hills, the Hervey Vineyard’s 777 clone shows more elegance as it ripens along the cool Atascadero creek, allowing for vibrant flavor development and higher acidity.
2013 “The Thief” Petite Sirah
At about 1200 feet, tucked into the foothills of the Mayacama Mountains sits a rocky, basalt/volcanic soiled vineyard. These rocky soils of the Chalk Hill region of the Russian River Valley create low yielding vines the produce grapes that are intensity structured and powerful, with deep, rich flavors.
2013 Peter's Vineyard Chardonnay
Farmed by Tom Mukaida and his son-in-law Randy Peters, this prime vineyard location was once an apple orchard until Randy convinced his father-in-law this cool foggy hillside might work well for grapes. Starting in the early 1980s, the property was slowly planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, representing one of the very first plantings of these two varietals in the hills south of Sebastopol. The Southern facing slopes help to form the northern boundary of the Petaluma Gap, the main artery inland for the cooling marine winds blowing inland from the Pacific Ocean. Our Chardonnay, from a older block of Clone 4, benefits both from its sunny southern exposure and the influence of cool, marine air, creating wines of intense flavor and bright acidity.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing our wines with you.
